If you’re an Apple user, your subconscious might have recognized today’s date. It’s the day on your calendar emoji – July 17.

So why the random date? Someone’s birthday? Important day in tech? July 17 actually marks the day that Apple introduced the iCal at the MacWorld conference in 2002. Here’s the old press release on it discussing the then-new technology.
