We are looking for an IT Project Manager II to join the TECKpert team at a client Government agency on site in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Plantation, FL, Dania Beach, FL, & Pompano Beach, FL.


You will be required to perform work onsite as this is not a remote position.

The Opportunity

Project Manager II (Advanced) provides hands-on IT leadership, management, supervision and support to various projects in a variety of roles, to oversee the work of a technical team and provide expertise, such as: organizing, planning, and execution of project management responsibilities for in-house software and vendor integration projects. Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations. Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately. Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers. 


Responsibilities 

Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise, including executive levels, which may impact the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed. Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource Management practices, and change management techniques. Manages multiple cross-functional projects of medium to high complexity.


Compensation and Term 

Varies based on experience. Starting pay is $31/hour at 40 hours/week.


Qualifications & Requirements

The Project Manager II provides or possesses the following: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field. Or equivalent work experience.
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) or successful completion of a similar recognized certification. 
  • Project Management curriculum is required. 
  • Requires 7 to 10 years of IT work experience, including 3 - 5 years managing IT projects using a Software Development Methodology. 
  • A minimum of three years of experience managing Software Development Projects utilizing a SDLC. 
  • A minimum of three years' experience in managing IT Infrastructure and/or Software Development Projects. 
  • Experience with projects with multiple technologies and functions. 
  • Three years of VENDOR management experience including contract management. 
  • Works under general direction of senior level management. Responsible for the management of multiple medium to large-size projects and programs. Manages and mentors project leaders and project management staff. Must have the ability to lead a PMO.
  • Excellent Leadership, Communications (written and verbal), Ownership, Teamwork, Accountability, Conflict Resolution, and Analytical skills to successfully drive assigned projects to completion.
  • Three years of executing the purchasing and procurement process to acquire hardware and software.
  • The position is expected to research, conduct feasibility studies, recommend system solutions, develop enhancement plans, and related cost-benefit comparisons. 
  • Work includes supervising and coordinating the activities of professional and technical staff working on phases of large-scale automation projects. 
  • Must thoroughly understand the full project life cycle of a project.
  • Knowledge of SQL and Oracle Databases. 
  • Capability to understand client's technical and business requirements on a project. 
  • Experience with tools in gathering requirements (CASE), developing specifications, and testing during the life of a project.
  • Management experience. 
  • Formal Project Management Training is required. 
  • Drug Test Required
  • Background Test Required
