We are looking for an GIS Analyst to join the TECKpert team at a client Government agency on site in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Plantation, FL, Dania Beach, FL, & Pompano Beach, FL.

You will be required to perform work onsite as this is not a remote position.

Responsibilities 

The GIS analyst is responsible for designing, modeling, developing, and supporting Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS). Analyzes data requirements for addressing, application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schema(s), and then designs, develops, amends, optimizes, and certifies database schema design to meet system(s) requirements. Preferred candidates will be very skilled in performing geospatial analysis, workflow design, scripting, and data automation across multiple systems (e.g. E911 Map Street Address Guide, Geographical Information System (GIS), Computer Aided Dispatch System). Gathers, analyzes, and normalizes relevant information related to addressing, and from business processes, functions, and operations to evaluate data credibility and determine relevance and meaning. Develops database and warehousing designs across multiple platforms and computing environments. 

The GIS Database Analysts will assist with key GIS Assessment and System update project(s), provide Database and GIS Maintenance and Support for existing and new Databases. Knowledge of Software Lifecycle, office suite, GIS, operating systems, Oracle and/or SQL databases, object- oriented methodologies, SQL, DB Clustering, and Database Tuning is needed. 


Compensation and Term 

Varies based on experience. Starting pay is $28/hour at 40 hours/week.


Qualifications & Requirements

The GIS Database Analyst must have a strong IT and technical background and provide or possess the following: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent work experience. 

  • Requires 3 to 5 years of IT work experience as a DBA providing RDBMS design and support for SQL and/or Oracle Databases.
  • At least one year of experience in geospatial design, scripting for system interfaces, and automation of data flow. 
  • Strong technical and analytical skills to assist others with all the technical and complex aspects of GIS and Databases. 
  • Two years of experience in data mapping and data conversion.
  • Extensive experience Windows 7 or later and MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with complex database concepts, object-oriented methodologies, and client/server and web system architectures. 
  • One year of experience with OEM or SQL Database Management Tools.
  • Experience working with Windows Server 2003/2008/2012
  • Review and analyze data to produce maps and other documentation. 
  • Two years of experience writing reports with Crystal Reports, Cognos, or other reporting tools. 
  • Assist in maintaining street information, maps, centerline, and other associated datasets. 
  •  Two years of writing SQL Queries.
  • General business office administration knowledge of purchasing, accounts payable, payroll, and HR. 
  • Experience with Software ticket tracking system for work requests. 
  • Database Tuning and Clustering. 
  • Performs periodic audits and maintains GIS data. 
  • Provide Tier 2 and 3 Support of GIS, databases, and consulting.
  • Timely data entry and tracking of all work requests utilizing a Cherwell ticket tracking system. 
  • Drug Test Required
  • Background Test Required 


Nice to Have

  • Prior transit experience and knowledge of transit technologies
